Your Questions Answered

Is there a specific age required for these sessions?
Our programme is built for those 55 and older, though we welcome all seniors. There is absolutely no limit on age as we focus on boosting your flexibility and grace through gentle movement.
Is prior dance training a requirement?
Absolutely not. Whether you are a total novice or returning to the studio after decades away, our teacher modifies movements to respect your current fitness level and unique body needs.
What should I wear to class?
Comfort is key. We recommend wearing comfortable, stretchy clothing that allows you to move freely. This could be a simple leotard and leggings or tights, and a ballet skirt if desired. Or it could be simple active wear.
You can wear ballet shoes or thin-soled socks with grip for the taster class.
Try to ensure your hair is off the face, as much as possible.
What should I bring to class?
It is a great idea to bring along a bottle of water. This ensures you can stay properly hydrated while we move throughout the session.
Do I need to be very fit to join?
Not at all. Classes are gentle and low-impact, and you are encouraged to work at your own pace. We build strength and flexibility gradually so you can feel safe and supported.
Can I try just one class first?
Yes. You are welcome to book a single class to see how it feels before committing to a block of 10 sessions.
What if I have health concerns or past injuries?
Please check with your doctor before starting any new activity, and let us know about any conditions or past injuries. We can offer simple modifications so you can move comfortably and with confidence.
Is there parking nearby?
For Maple Lodge Studio, do try to get here on foot where possible. Alternatively, park at the rear, and make sure you ask the instructor for a parking permit. We recommend arriving a few minutes early for your class
